This 2024 Ford Edge was upfitted as a dedicated paramedic intercept vehicle, combining high-performance warning capability with a cost-conscious equipment strategy. Heartland Public Safety Equipment sourced a mix of new and new-old-stock Whelen components, as well as used components where appropriate, to significantly reduce overall build cost without compromising quality or functionality.
The vehicle features a Whelen CenCom Carbide smart control system with a handheld controller to aid in retaining the factory console and rotary gear selector. It is also accompanied by a Legacy DUO lightbar, T-Ions in the grille and on the rear hatch, and LINSV2 lights mounted under the rearview mirrors. This build is a perfect demonstration of how thoughtful equipment sourcing and strategic design can deliver a professional emergency vehicle package while maximizing budget efficiency.
